My name is Laura Stoddard and I am a License Massage Therapist (LMT) and an Ashiatsu Oriental Bar Therapist (AOBT) in Michigan. I am a graduate of the 520 hour massage therapy program at the Kalamazoo Center for the Healing Arts (currently The Institute of Massage Education) from 2005-2007 and have over 75 hours in class of Ashiatsu Oriental Bar Therapy Training from 2010-2011. I have certifications with A.C.E. Massage/Medi Cupping and Bamboo Fusion Massage from the Institute of Sanative Arts. I have been a member of Associated Bodywork and Massage Professionals (ABMP) since 2005.
At KCHA I learned many different modalities such as accupressure, myofascial release, cranial sacral therapy, reflexology, chair massage, relaxation and pre-natal massage. I have worked in high-end spas doing relaxation, deep tissue, hot stone and aromatherapy massage. I have also done massage in a physical therapist office. Here I did electrical stem, heat/cold packs, stretching, target muscle exercise and sports massage for injury prevention and relief.
When I started my own business in 2010, I needed to explore more options for expanding my practice and saving my hands, that is when I learned Ashiatsu and starting doing massage with my feet! Learning massage cupping, stones, and bamboo have also assisted me in longevity as a massage therapist but also assisted clients in their healing needs. I enjoy using all that I have learned and continue to learn about the body to personalize each massage so that you can experience the many benefits of massage and bodywork. I encourage everyone to treat your bodies with respect, maintain a positive attitude and improve your quality of life with massage and other healthy lifestyle choices.
When I'm not doing massage I love to travel with my husband, Phil, all around the world and the USA. I also enjoy doing yoga, skiing and hiking with my two goldies, Chili and Abby and my Yorkie, Quincy!
